Each 130g pouch cuts packaging compared to cartons, ships without unnecessary water, and stores easily at room temperature, meaning your barista oat drink now comes with a lighter footprint. So if you want foam that wins, flavour that lasts, and impact that’s lighter, MYOM Oat Barista is the choice that makes more sense for your coffee, your kitchen, and the environment. Shake. Steam. MYOM FAQs
Is MYOM an oat milk concentrate?
Not quite. A concentrate is made by removing water from a larger volume. MYOM is a premix — the oat blend is made without the water ever being added, so nothing is boiled off or reduced. You add the water at home, and one 130g pouch makes a litre of fresh oat drink in about thirty seconds.
Is MYOM an oat milk powder?
No. MYOM is a liquid premix, not a powder. The pouch contains a smooth oat blend that mixes into cold water with a thirty-second shake, with no lumps, no blending and no dissolving time. One 130g pouch makes one litre.
What is an oat milk premix?
A premix is oat drink made without the water. Everything that would be in a litre — oats, oil, minerals, vitamins, salt — is blended into a 130g pouch, and you add the water at home. It keeps for twelve months in a cupboard, and is made fresh the moment you want it.
How many litres does the Starter Bundle make?
Four litres. The Starter Bundle contains four 130g pouches and each one makes a full litre of fresh oat drink, plus a reusable 1L glass bottle to make and store it in.
Will MYOM Barista actually foam?
Yes, hot and cold. MYOM Barista is built with fava bean protein to steam, stretch and hold at 60–65°C for microfoam, and it froths straight from the fridge for cold foam. It won Best Vegan Barista Milk 2026. Chill it before you froth. Cold oat foams better.
Is MYOM oat drink milk-free?
Yes. MYOM is 100% dairy-free and milk-free. It contains no animal milk or dairy derivatives. You simply add water to create fresh oat drink at home.
Why does MYOM say 'oat drink' instead of 'oat milk'?
UK law reserves the word 'milk' for dairy products. Every oat brand uses 'oat drink' on pack. Consumers may still say oat milk — the product remains the same.

How Does MYOM Compare to Other Barista Oat Milks?
MYOM Barista Oat delivers the same silky texture and professional performance as the best-known barista oat milks in cartons, but with a lighter footprint. Made with 77% oats, fava bean protein and a touch of rapeseed oil, it creates smooth, stable microfoam that holds perfectly for lattes, flat whites and cappuccinos. The flavour is naturally sweet and balanced, enhancing coffee rather than masking it.
Unlike most carton barista milks that rely on dipotassium phosphate or gums, MYOM achieves its creamy texture naturally, with no additives or stabilisers. It’s lower in fat and calories than leading brands, at just 49 kcal and 0.2 g saturates per 100 ml, and contains no added sugar. MYOM is made fresh at home from an oat premix, so there’s no need for refrigeration until made, no additives to preserve it and no waste from opened cartons.
Each 130 g pouch replaces a one-litre carton, cutting packaging and transport emissions. Made in Scotland, MYOM Barista Oat combines café-quality taste with a cleaner label and a smaller environmental impact: a premium barista milk that tastes better and wastes less.
Can I Foam MYOM Barista Oat?
Yes, MYOM Barista Oat is specifically designed to foam beautifully, creating silky, stable microfoam that performs perfectly every time. Whether you use a steam wand, jug frother or handheld whisk, it produces a fine, glossy foam ideal for lattes, cappuccinos and flat whites. The difference lies in the carefully balanced blend of oats, fava bean protein and rapeseed oil, which allows air to integrate evenly into the milk while maintaining elasticity. The result is foam that holds its shape without separating and delivers a smooth, naturally creamy taste.
Unlike most carton barista oat milks, MYOM contains no dipotassium phosphate, gums or stabilisers. Its microfoam forms naturally from the oats and plant-based protein, giving a clean, fresh flavour and a long-lasting, stable texture. For best results, start with fully chilled MYOM Barista Oat (below 6 °C), fill your jug halfway to allow room for expansion, and steam or heat gradually to around 60–65 °C. Tap and swirl the jug to remove large bubbles and blend the foam for a glossy, velvety finish that’s perfect for pouring or creating latte art.
Because MYOM Barista Oat is made fresh at home, it foams better than long-life carton milks that have been heat-treated and stored for months. The freshness and simplicity of the ingredients are what make the difference every time you shake, steam or froth, you get a consistent, café-quality result. Whether you’re using a domestic frother or a professional coffee machine, MYOM Barista Oat performs beautifully, giving you the freedom to “Foam Like a Pro at Home.”
What are the benefits of a balanced plant-based diet?
There is a movement towards more plant-based diets, whether that be vegan or ‘flexitarian’. Obviously, diet choice is completely personal. There are some benefits to more plant-based eating, for health, the environment, and animal welfare. For example, studies have found a protective effect of a vegetarian diet versus the incidence of heart disease and cancer; a plant-based diet was found to have a protective role against chronic disease mortality and including more plant variety in the diet (30+ is the magic number) can have a positive effect on the diversity and health of your gut microbiome.
MYOM & Gluten Free
We cannot guarantee or certify MYOM as gluten-free at the moment. Although there are no gluten-containing ingredients used (as oats are not a gluten-containing grain), due to the way oats are processed there is risk of cross-contamination with gluten.
MYOM & Nut Free
No nuts (peanuts or tree nuts*) are used as an ingredient in MYOM, or within our factory. We also make sure we have strict protocols in place with our factory and ingredient suppliers to control for this. *In the US, the FDA class coconut as a tree nut. It is not classified as this in the UK so please note our factory does handle coconut.
MYOM & Wheat Free
We don’t make MYOM with any wheat-based ingredients. However, due to the way that oats are handled and processed there is a risk of cross-contamination. Therefore, sadly we can’t say that MYOM is wheat-free.
MYOM & IBS
MYOM could be a great alternative for people who find dairy can trigger their IBS symptoms, however triggers are always unique. Some people experiencing IBS may follow a low FODMAP diet for a short period. The low FODMAP diet was first developed by Monash University who are still pioneers in this research. The FODMAP content of oat milks can differ, we haven’t yet tested ours yet, but in general, it is thought that in small quantities (30ml serves), oat milk is low FODMAP, but should be avoided in higher quantities. Remember you should only follow a restricted diet under the care of a nutrition professional, so it is best to check with your practitioner.
MYOM & Chronic Kidney Disease
If you have been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, it may be necessary to make changes to the food you eat. We do not add any phosphate additives into MYOM, but we do use potassium iodide. As the dietary needs can differ between individuals, it is best to talk to your kidney dietitian or doctor to discuss the best plant-based milk alternative for you.
Do you use Dipotassium Phosphate in MYOM?
We always strive to make the best possible product for our customers, for this reason, we have chosen never to use Dipotassium Phosphate in our products. If you want to read more about this, we have a blog post here.
