This page covers how MYOM works, storage, nutrition and how it compares to carton oat drinks. For the short answer to “what is MYOM?”, see our story.

What MYOM is

MYOM oat drink premix (just add water) is an oat blend in a pouch. You add cold water at home, shake, and it becomes fresh oat drink.

Carton oat drinks are typically mostly water. MYOM ships the oat blend only, so you add the water when you need it.

How much does MYOM make?

Product Pouch size Makes (when mixed)
MYOM Original Oat 65 g 500 ml
MYOM Original Oat 130 g 1 L
MYOM Barista Oat 130 g 1 L

You can adjust strength: use slightly less water for a creamier drink, or slightly more for a lighter one.

How to make MYOM (shake to make)

Make 1 L (130 g pouch)

  1. Pour 500 ml cold water into a clean bottle.
  2. Add the full 130 g pouch.
  3. Shake firmly for 30 seconds.
  4. Top up with cold water to reach 1 L, then shake again.

Make 500 ml (65 g pouch — Original)

  1. Pour 240 ml cold water into a 500 ml bottle.
  2. Add the full 65 g pouch.
  3. Shake for 30 seconds.
  4. Top up with 200 ml water, then shake again.

Tip: For best texture, start with cold water and shake hard. If you’re making it for coffee, chill before frothing.

Storage & shelf life

  • Unopened premix: store in a cool, dry place. Both Original and Barista are typically 12 months (check pack).
  • Once made (mixed with water): refrigerate and use within 5 days. Shake before each use (natural separation can occur).
  • Opened pouch: reseal, store cool & dry, and use promptly. If you decant into an airtight container, keep it dry.

Which MYOM should I choose?

Choose MYOM Original Oat if you want a versatile oat drink for everyday use across cereal, tea, smoothies and cooking.

Choose MYOM Barista Oat if you primarily drink coffee and want improved creaminess and foam performance in lattes, flat whites and cappuccinos.

Coffee performance (what to expect)

Barista is formulated for steaming and microfoam. It performs best when well chilled before frothing and heated to around 60–65°C.

  • Best for: lattes, flat whites, cappuccinos, hot chocolate.
  • Expect: natural separation over time — shake before pouring (this is normal for fewer additives).
  • If you want extra creamy: use slightly less water when mixing.

Packaging reduction vs cartons

Carton oat drinks are typically around 90% water. With MYOM, you add the water at home — meaning less liquid shipping and less bulky packaging.

Packaging

Uses significantly less packaging than carton oat drinks because the water is added at home and the product ships in lightweight pouches.

Why it’s lower

You’re not buying or transporting a litre of water for every litre you drink.

FAQs (quick answers)

What is MYOM?

MYOM is a liquid oat drink premix. You add cold water to it at home and shake, and it becomes a litre of fresh oat drink.

It is not a concentrate and it is not a powder. Nothing is reduced from a larger volume, and nothing is dehydrated. It is a liquid oat blend, held at the strength that becomes a litre when you add the water at home.

Unlike a ready-to-drink carton, where the water is added during manufacturing and the product is then UHT processed, MYOM contains only a small amount of water in the pouch. You add the rest just before use.

How much does one pouch make?

A 130 g pouch makes 1 litre. A 65 g pouch (Original only) makes 500 ml when mixed with water.

How long does MYOM last once made?

Once mixed with water, refrigerate and use within 5 days. Shake before each use (natural separation can occur).

Is MYOM good for coffee?

Yes. Barista is designed for microfoam and creamy texture in hot drinks. Chill before steaming and heat to ~60–65°C for best results.

Where can I buy MYOM?

MYOM is sold online at myom.shop and shipped within the UK.
